I recently became interested in windpower and some research. Northern Tool advertised one for around $9000.00 that would supply the home. At the rated output at wind speed of 12 to 15 mph, I would only need 13 of these systems to supply my peak months of usage. That is if the wind blows 15 mph 24 hours a day. Probably not, so I probably need 26 of these systems. This generator came the closest of all my research. If you find a solution, please let me know
References :
It is generally not as much zoning issues as much as it is the cost to instal a wind generator system that makes it almost a cost prohibative project. Zoning kicks in if you live in a large city or suburban settings. Right now I believe there are no advantages to a wind generator system for there are no buyback programs from our power supliers. Just a couple of things to consider and research if that is truely what you want to do.
