Is there any site that compares the electricity use of the different internet options? I need to find ways to cut down my electric bill. I think Fios uses a lot!
Your bill tripled just because you are using a fiber-optic internet service??? Sounds like there is more to this… I would purchase a little device called "kill-a-watt" or similar device that you plug in to measure the amount of energy appliances use. See how many watts the device is pulling… then check out everything else you have plugged in around your house/apartment. I would suspect the high bills are caused by something else such as an electric heater or something similar.

Internet do not use so much electricity.
Electric heating do, as well as your washing machine (set a lower water temperature)
