I say if it’s over 80 degrees, turn it on. Otherwise, get by with fans and save money on the electric bill. How about you? How hot do you need to be before you give in and turn it on?
I ususally say Uncle Bill around 80 too, but really it is more dependent on if it interferes with my sleep. If it is NOT humid and breezy, I can go higher.
What is your temperature cut-off for using air conditioning in the house?

I don’t touch the damn thermostat.
I still live with my dad and his wife, and she doesn’t realize that opening windows with the air on raises the electricity bill, so if I touch it and it happens, my fault..
I’ll just hide in my room when I’m home and wait until my dad tells me to open or close the windows.

My husband sets the thermostat at 78. I set it at 80 when it’s just me.
