I fell behind on my bill because I was in the hospital and lost work. I am trying to set up an arrangement but they said they could not wait another week for my next paycheck and that they were going to disconnect my service if I didn’t pay the balance. I just need another week. I was told that they couldn’t cut electric off between Nov. 15th and April 15th. Does anyone know if that is a fact?

Many times the language you use with a utility representative makes a big difference. To say you want to delay the payment of your bill may make for an automatic refusal where suggesting a payment plan to start in a week may be acceptable. Also usually it is better to pay something than nothing even if you expect to make a full payment at a later date. Good luck with this.
