<description>Just looked at the specs for the Onix3000 &amp; I really do not understand how this thing is capable of doing what it claims.

There is no filter to trap cigarette smoke particulates, pollen, mold, pet dander or any other type of particulate matter.

There are no fans, so how does it effectively move any volume of air, let alone 5,200 cubic feet of air...that&#039;s a room 10 feet wide &amp; 65 feet long, with an 8 foot ceiling.

If there are no replaceable parts, what develops the sterilizing action...their &#039;blue anti-stress light&#039;? I think not ! ! !

I also looked at the Oreck and it is much better, design wise, than the Onix, however, while it may clean some of the air around it, I do not believe that it can scrub the air (the technology used in submarines) as it is too small.

Replacing the standard filter, in your home heating &amp; air system, with a micro particulate filter will trap more particulates and clean more air at less than 1/12 of the cost of the Oreck &amp; less than 1/9 the cost of the Onix.

In my opinion, these things may do, initially, what they say they can do, but will NEVER do what YOU THINK they will do for you...it is physically impossible given their size &amp; design.

Actually, I do not believe any of these small, table top of floor units will perform to your expectations.

Just the opinion of a mechanical engineer.....

Good luck...
