White House Admits Obama Energy Tax Will Increase Average Electric Bill By $1800 Per Year

President Obama’s energy tax plan — a version of the failed European “cap and trade” global warming fiasco — may cost families $1,800 yearly in higher utility bills, far exceeding his promised $800 a year tax cut for 95% of Americans.

While campaigning, Obama admitted that his energy plan would cause electric bills to “skyrocket.”

And lest you think this is partisan spin, the baseline figures are from Obama’s own people.

Obama’s official budget claims that his proposed energy tax would add $646 billion to energy costs over 8 years. But that’s low-balling it.

As the Washington Times reported:

President Obama’s climate plan could cost industry close to $2 trillion, nearly three times the White House’s initial estimate of the so-called "cap-and-trade" legislation, according to Senate staffers who were briefed by the White House. . . . At the meeting, Jason Furman, a top Obama staffer, estimated that the president’s cap-and-trade program could cost up to three times as much as the administration’s early estimate of $646 billion over eight years.

Put another way, Furman estimates the cap-and-trade scheme will cost, on average, $250 billion annually. That estimate must be taken seriously because Furman is deputy director of Obama’s National Economic Council.

Obama says that these new taxes, which they do not dispute, will be partially offset by tax cuts of $800.00 for 95% of households (and yes, that is another phony use of "tax cut" which is actually a welfare check redistributed from taxpayers to the 42% of Americans who pay no taxes). And even then, everybody is still out at least $1,000.00 per year. All to pay for the hoax of Global Warming.

You live in a dream world. The people will NOT be coming out even. And Obama wont be pumping that money back into the economy. That isnt the responsibility of the government anyways. How about NOT taking it from the people and letting them pump their money into the economy on their own terms. For products that they need and want? But then, we cant have people spending their own money on themselves and acting like free people as a result, now can we?

Your figures and those cited are really just the start though-the businesses and companies that will get hit with the increased electrical rates will also pass that cost on to the consumer so the cost will be $1,800 from the companies and more from each business and company to recoup the extra cost to them -being conservative a 3% or better increase in cost additionally across the board and that is a very low estimate.

Callback calls are normally triggered using three different methods.  The most common method is to place a call to a phone number in the third country.  The caller will let the phone ring two or three times than hang up without an answer.   In this way they are not charged for an international call.  A computer at the other end will recognize them based on their phone number and place a call back to their phone number.  Thus the term callback phone service.  When the call is received, the caller will be in the low cost phone system and can place a call to any country in the world.  This method of triggering a call is referred to as traditional callback.  Another method, commonly called web call, uses a standard e-mail message to trigger a callback and place a call.  A third method, commonly called SMS call, uses a text message from a cell phone to trigger a callback and place a call. 

Several countries try to block callback in order to protect their high cost, monopoly phone companies.  Blocking traditional callback is relatively easy since it relies on caller ID in order to recognize the customer.  Blocking web call or SMS call is difficult or impossible so these methods can be used from almost any country.

Hi. I live in Australia and we have an electric mains hot water system with a capacity of approximately 210L. We seem to be paying alot for electrictiy, approximately $1200/year, however we do not run any heating or air-conditioning appliances and are we are careful to minimize our power comsumption. Three people share this house. When I check our power bill there is no charge for any off-peak usage of power so I’m guessing the hot water system must turn on/off whenever it needs to. The water that comes out of the system is extremely hot, you can’t even put your hand under it. Would turning down the temperature on the hot water system save us money and also cut greenhouse gas emissions? Thanks for your answers guys.

Yes it can save money but a better way that I used was to install a "timer" that you can find at almost any good hardware store. But be sure to get one that you may set for more than one time a day because as you will find out you use your hot water most in the mornings and evenings.
I experimented and found that by setting the hot water timer to come one for only about 3 hours in the mornings that was enough for the morning! But in the evenings if you have a large family especially you will have to set it for longer periods to cover bathing, dishwashing, washing of clothes ect.
Figure you have it set for even as much as 10 hours each day! You still have 14 hours of electricity you save each day! 98 hours per week or 5,116 hours per year!!
So yeah you can definitely save money.

As far as greenhouse gas emissions!?! I don’t thing all the water heaters in the world could do near the damage as automobiles do! Much less the factories that are in countries that don’t care or can’t afford to manage their pollutants better.

One report I read had to do with "Acid Rain" and "Mercury content" in water resources in Florida. They found that all the plants in Florida couldn’t count for the amount of mercury they had found in the bodies of dead animals such as raccoons, and even full grown Florida panthers! Through much research they finally came to the conclusion that the air currents brought the poisons from as far away as Europe to add to our own toxins! Danged if you do, danged if you don’t!!

It’s a can’t win situation! But God bless those who at least do their part and try!
