Hi all,
I want to build u an average sized wind turbine generator (about 1 Meter each Wing Size). so that i can get electricity for my home based appliances such as TV, AC, Refrigerators, etc.

What would be the requirements.. so i need to take any statutory approvals / license to do so,, and how to give input to my main Line into the home.

thanks to all in advance

First thing: Is this going to be a temporary source (in case of a power cut) or a more permanent source.

Because it will be an extension to your house, you might need planning permission. You have a certain ‘amount’ you can build on without permission, so if you haven’t used it, nor has a previous owner, than you can build it with permission. You can check this by going to your council.

Feng Shui, which was initially popular as a Chinese art, has now started gaining popularity all over the world. In fact, Feng Shui is a term composed of two Chinese terms: ‘feng’ means wind and ’shui’ means water.

Thus, it is obvious from the meaning itself, that wind and water are the two elements that are required for the survival of human being. These two natural elements move, flow and circulate everywhere on Earth.

Everybody of us appreciates the benefits of a beautiful and a comfortable living environment. Now, Feng Shui examines the how the placement of things and objects within our house affects the energy flow and also how these objects interact and influence our personal energy flow.

Thus, you can use the principles of feng shui to position your furniture and interior decor in such a manner that it maximizes the positive influences and minimizes the negative ones. The harmony and balance within the home should be maintained by using the right color and light so that things work out perfectly fine.

It should however be remembered that the left side of a room is the powerful dragon and the right is the sleeping tiger. Things which are of constant use like clocks, electrical equipments etc, should be placed in the left side which is the symbol of power. The opposite half, belonging to the sleeping tiger should be kept calm, quite and static.

As per the feng shui rules,
1.The main entrance of a house should never face the south as it is considered very inauspicious.

2.It is always advisable to avoid having staircases facing the main entrance as it attracts the negative energy.

3.The door should open with a lot of rooms in front of you which is known to have a positive effect.

4.A wall in front of you at the time of leaving the house is very inauspicious.

5.A toilet facing your main door, as you go out, will adversely affect your business and career.

6.A toilet facing the main door, as you come in, will drain out all your wealth.

7.Three doors in a row are considered unlucky.

8.Always avoid a house facing hospitals, cemetery, police stations, jails and morgues which are known to invite disasters to your life and family.

Houses, flats, shops and other business premises, like human beings are always imperfect. So it is always advisable not to ‘try out’ feng shui on your homes. Taking the advice of a feng shui consultant is always a wise move.

Are you worried about how to design your place as per the feng shui principles? Well, then be on the look out for our next segment where we will be discussing about how to design your living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, study and other important rooms of your house.

These panels cleverly convert the suns light into electricity. The cells are usually made up of layers of a semiconductor called Silicon. When exposed to light a DC electrical charge is generated. When numerous cells are banked together they can produce large amounts of electricity. These cells can be used to power many electrical devices from calculators to your home appliances. The sunnier the position the more electricity that can be generated.

This often, but not always, means positioning the panels on a south facing roof. If the roof is flat the panels can be mounted on frames that hold the panels at the optimum angle.

When connected to the national grid a property can benefit from reduced electricity bills and can even export electricity to the national grid.
The panels tend to cost somewhere between £5000 to £7500 per kW, depending on the required specification and particular project.

Are Solar PV panels right for my property?

If specified properly, installing Solar PV WILL reduce your electricity bills. For roof mounted panels, having a south facing roof is useful. However, depending on the roof angle, panels can function properly facing South West to South East. They still benefit from 95% of the suns radiation.

The panels can be sized in a number of ways, one method is to match the capacity to the minimum load on the property, so if the property typically uses 1kW, install 1kW of panels. This means that on the sunniest day every bit of electricity being generated is being used. Alternatively, you can install a much larger capacity and sell the excess electricity back to the national grid. The rates the electricity companies will pay for this electricity is becoming more competitive everyday.

Are there any grants?

There are many streams of grant funding depending on your particular project.  For domestic properties any one can get a grant if they use a certified BRE installer.  The grant is up to £2500 (£2000 per kW installed).

For non profit organisation there are grants that may pay for the whole installation.  Commercial businesses should contact there local authority to see if there are any local funding streams.

However, even without a grant a Solar PV system is a good investment.

Will this type of solar panel pay for itself?

In short the answer to this question is YES. The government grants in the UK have reduced the payback massively. A more detailed answer would need to look at exactly how payback is to be measured. The environmental payback is extremely quick, perhaps even 6 months? With regard to financial payback the calculation becomes more complex, let’s assume the following:

- Electricity prices continues to rise as they have over recent years.

- The system adds 50% of it’s installation cost to your homes value.

- You export surplus electricity to the national grid on a typical export tariff.

Given these, not unreasonable, assumptions, a system could payback within 10 years. After 20 years the system would have paid for itself twice over.

A local energy company in Clearwater Florida is proposing to raise its energy costs…again. Over the last year this company has raised its rates by around thirty percent and residents are starting to worry that, with the economy tanking and layoffs happening everywhere, that they won’t be able to afford to keep their electricity on anymore. And while Florida is known for being warm all year round, who wants to go camping in the winter, especially when there is no end in site to the camping? It only takes a couple of days before the idea of a hot shower becomes so beautiful that you consider bribing your friends and family to let you live with them instead of trying to keep your own—just so that you can feel warm water on your skin again.

In a time when energy costs are increasing (ironic considering the drop in fuel costs), it becomes even more important to cut down on power usage. The following list presents Clearwater residents with some tried and true ways to cut down on their energy bills and some more…creative ideas as well.

1. Put blankets over your windows and outside access doors. Sure it makes you look like a hillbilly, but when you cover your windows, you reduce the amount of heat loss that occurs. Windows and outside access doors are like sucking vortexes for heat. The thicker their coverings, the warmer your house will stay—and you won’t have to keep kicking the heater up a notch.

2. Unplug whatever you are not using. Sure it’s a pain in the butt to have to plug your television set back in, but it has been proven that unplugging appliances and machines when they are not in use can do a lot more to cut down on your electric bill than simply turning them off.

3. Learn to love hats and shoes. Most of your body heat is lost through your head and your feet. If you keep them covered, you won’t be as tempted to kick up the heat in your home!

4. Grill—even in winter! Using your grill or barbecue cuts down on the amount of power you need to make dinner and can lower your bill. No it won’t be fun to stand outside if it is cold, but grilling or barbecuing even just a few times a week can spell the difference between being able to afford your electric bill and….not.

5. Join some clubs or other social organizations that require you to leave the house. The less time you spend at home, the less energy you will use. Join a knitting group or a book club—something that doesn’t require money to join or a lot of driving around. Plus, you’ll make friends and have fun!

These are just five ways that you can cut down on your energy costs. You already know about energy saving light bulbs and the like. Now it is time to get creative and figure out what else you can do to reduce your energy consumption!

Some of the expenses crop up without any notification for which you might not be prepared monetarily. And very often it is seen that persons usually opt to sell their assets in such circumstances. But overcoming such financial crisis can be done by considering the simple and flexible option of unsecured cash loans. Unsecured cash loans let you access instant cash without any sort of collateral but also the amount will be available on the same day or the next business day.

Unsecured cash loans are easy to procure and the basic eligibility requirements are that applicant should be a permanent employee and have a valid bank account. Lenders will be deciding on the amount and term of the loan according to your repayment capacity calculated based on your salary and bank balance.

Borrowers with bad credits are not rejected in this case. You may easily find an unsecured cash loan even if you have a less than perfect credit.

You are permitted to borrow cash between £100 and £1,500 for a short repayment term. The reimbursement course limitation extends to 30 days from approval date. This will help you to close the loan quickly and free yourself from paying interest for long time.

You can extend the loan repayment period according to your convenience but in such case you may have to pay an additional fee.

Making use of the cash received as unsecured cash loans you can meet any of your requirements. You can use it to make payments like medical bills, electricity bills, school fees, car bills, grocery bills, and miscellaneous payments.

The Unsecured Cash Loans are reasonably and economically calculated. You can find the rates according to your budget. However, if you compare the quotes minutely then you might end up with marginal rates. Quotes will help you know the term and amount offered in the case of each loan by different lenders. Unfortunately, a traditional urban home is not really all that well suited to wind power.

To get real efficiency, you need fairly strong winds. Strong winds usually means having a very tall tower for the wind turbine.

Tall towers need permits and often are not suitable for, or allowed in, residential areas with small lot sizes.
